Rusty pickle is coming to town and is going to teach 2 classes at the shop!!! Class one is the "Way Cool Pop Star" Album. Saturday 10/25/08 at 7pm-10pm. Cost is $50.00. Here are some pictures - this class is designed with their Pop Star Line which gives you all the creative license to color in the papers how ever you want.

Delta Phi Scrappa "Party" Day

Saturday to start out our 4th Anniversary week
we hosted the Delta Phi Scrappa Ultimate Shop Day!!
What a great time - this group is amazing & toms of fun!!

Window Pane Class

So I have had a lot of requests to
post photos of the window pane class
that is coming up in August so here
they are. The 6 pane one is made with
an antique window the rest are done
with new windows. Antique window vary
in style and size as we are limited to
what I have on hand, if you want to have
an antique window there is a $20 upgrade
charge. If you have questions feel

Remember Why you scrapbook

Do you remember why you started to scrapbook? Was it to save your children's photos? a hobby choice? you love to create? Are you a photo lover? Well I was reminded last week...... I

had a client come in and ask me if I would be willing to help her save a scrapbook. I of course said yes. She shred with me a huge book that was falling apart before my eyes. This client is in her 90's and the scrapbook was full of all of the "love" letters that her husband had written to her during his time in World War 2....... WOW Those of you who know me know that the opportunity to restore an album would be a treat!!! The best part of it is why she wanted to have this done..... So that her children, grand children and great grandchildren could have these letters and parts of history for ever..... I almost cried. And let me tell you that people do not write letters like this anymore - if they even write them at all.

So this was my WOW - this is why I scrap my photos so that some day my great grandchildren can see what life was like in 2006. I took photos of the album to share with all of you.

The Hat box photos was another antique project.... I had the pleasure of restoring an old hat box for a special client. Enjoy

New Ideas

Sorry it's been awhile but we have been busy creating new projects for you. Our class of 2008 books are ready for you. The books can be customized for your school - if we do not have the right color for you let us know. The second project is a new calendar class coming in May, this is just a sneek peak.... Which means no it is not complete yet - but I am working on it- it's too cute!!

We have been very busy....... Checking in all of the "NEW". 4 new Heidi Grace Lines: A Birds Tale, Only Time, Day Dream Believer & Midnight Kisses. Cloud 9's Christy & Friends, Foil Trimmed Alpha's, Rain Dot Titles and Eyelets, Vellum Flower Kits, Quote Epoxy Stickers and Clear Stamps!!!! Fiskars has a New Designer: Kimberly Poloson, her new line is called Old Fashioned Flowers - Beautiful Butterflies and Flowers.

The new SEI Collection Dill Blossom is also here. We have the new border punches too, Threading Water and Leave it to Weaver are sold out and on reorder - hopefully they will be back in stock by Friday?!?!?!?!

Make sure that you stop and see us at the 3M Club Convention in Woodbury on Saturday - We are planning a GREAT Make n Take: Creative Cafe Happy Hour Project!! I hope to have pics up soon of it. Then on Sunday Our Fiskars Finest Event from 10-2. Have a great weekend - Enjoy the Snow.......

American Crafts and Page Kits

The Thickers Tree has returned! Our shipment of American Crafts Thickers came in today. These are the new fonts from CHA Winter just a few weeks ago. They are already selling fast! Hurry in and get yours before they all disappear! Some of the designs did get back-ordered, and will ship as soon at they are available. That just means you will have to come back!

We also got the new Details dimensional embellishments from American Crafts. These are so cute! They are pre-done and really for you to just add to your project!

Mitch has also complete his page kit for March. These pages turned out so nicely. Everything you need for these two pages and more is in the kit! Get yours before they are gone. Unfortunately, Mitch has to take a break from the kits. He is going to focus more on school and just don't have time to put the kits together. Watch for their return in the summer.

Got Scraps?

Do you have a big pile of scraps? Have a couple of teeny-weeny pieces of that beautiful paper you can't let go off? We have the project for you! You can create a beautiful collage with your scraps and a shape punch. This idea was inspired by Ali Edwards. Gina worked on this project and actually made 3 different types. First she started with two 8x10 pieces, one with a heart punch and the other with a round scalloped punch. See photos above.

She liked how these turned out so she decided to create a bigger project. She used a square punch and went through all her old scraps and a couple newer pieces of paper. She adhered them down with runner, and placed the page inside a 12x12 Bare Elements tray that she had spray painted black. We are very happy with the final look. Gina said "I forgot how many little scraps of awesome paper that I had! This was a perfect project to use up all those extras, and remisnicsce with that old paper :)" Check out her blog for more photos.

Birth as a Blogger

The Scrapbook Shop is officially a blogger. We are excited to be coming to you from this new venue. On our blog we will be able to keep you updated at all times. We will continue to update our blog with new products that have just arrived, classes that will be coming up, news about The Scrapbook Shop, and just plain fun information about the scrapbooking industry. We are planning to do some fun video post were we will show you some cool techniques and just how excited we get when new products come into the store!
